Glasgow Warriors coach Roddy Grant leaves club suddenly after internal investigation
Details withheld for ‘reasons of confidentiality’
Glasgow Warriors have announced that assistant coach Roddy Grant has left the club following an internal investigation.
The Warriors have refused to divulge the grounds for his departure “for reasons of confidentiality”. He will not be replaced this season.
His sudden exit from Glasgow was confirmed in a short statement issued on Tuesday night.

“Glasgow Warriors can confirm that Roddy Grant has left the club following the conclusion of an internal process,” the statement said.
“Grant will not be replaced for the remainder of the 2026/27 season, the club will continue with its existing coaching structure.
“For reasons of confidentiality, the club will not be providing any further comment.”
News came out of the blue
The news has come out of the blue, with Glasgow Warriors having made an unbeaten start to the new season. They are second in the United Rugby Championship after three wins and a draw in their first four games and they also beat Sale Sharks away in the opening round of the Investec Champions Cup.
Grant, 39, joined Glasgow in June 2025 following a stint on the coaching staff of the Georgian national team under Richard Cockerill, who was head coach at the time.
He had previously spent five years as Ulster’s forwards coach and, prior to that, had been on the coaching staff at Edinburgh, the club for which he played for six seasons.
A former Scotland Sevens international, Botswana-born Grant played 138 times for Edinburgh and represented Scotland at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Glasgow will continue for the rest of the season with their remaining coaching team lead by head coach Franco Smith who is assisted by Nigel Carolan, who oversees the club’s attack, and Scott Forrest, who is in charge of the defence.
